Paramount seeks judge's recusal in states' merger challenge

Paramount Skydance Corp. asked a federal judge to step aside from a multistate lawsuit seeking to block its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, arguing his prior work for the Writers Guild of America creates an appearance of partiality.

Paramount Skydance Corp. on Wednesday filed an emergency motion seeking the recusal of U.S. District Judge P. Casey Pitts from a lawsuit brought by 12 states challenging the company's proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc.
