DOJ drops economic espionage case against Chinese steel company after 15 years
The Justice Department voluntarily dismissed its economic espionage case against China's Pangang Group and three affiliates just days into trial, ending a 15-year prosecution that tested whether a Chinese state-owned enterprise could be criminally prosecuted in U.S. courts.
Fifteen years after bringing charges, the U.S. Department of Justice voluntarily dismissed its economic espionage case against Chinese iron and steel manufacturer Pangang Group, represented by Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP.
The prosecution filed to fully dismiss the charges Monday, just under a week after trial began.
