New York buyer of HP printer can't represent nationwide class
Since New York resident Radek Barnert purchased his printer in his home state, and didn’t allege injuries in any other, U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan van Keulen said he lacked Article III standing and dismissed breach of contract and other claims in every state other than New York.
Finding a New York businessman lacked standing to sue, a U.S. magistrate judge in San Jose partially dismissed a class action accusing HP Inc. of breach of contract because the printer company allegedly failed to make good on its subscription-based program "Instant Ink."
