Sutter Health proposed settlement will feature monitor, changes in business practices
Sutter Health has agreed to pay a $575 million settlement and change several of its business practices in a resolution announced Friday by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra that legal observers say would, if approved by a San Francisco County judge, be the most sweeping agreement of its kind.




Under the terms of a deal to resolve antitrust lawsuits by small employers, unions, and the California attorney general, Sutter Health has agreed to pay $575 million and to abide by a series of restrictions to stop overcharging customers in Northern California by forcing insurers to include Sutter hospitals and clinics in its plans.
