Justices Refuse Case of Prosecutor in Movie Deal

The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to review whether a California prosecutor should have been kicked off a high-profile murder case because he consulted on a related movie project.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to review whether a California prosecutor should have been kicked off a high-profile murder case because he consulted on a related movie project.

Ronald J. Zonen, a senior deputy district attorney in Santa Barbara County, was a source for an independent movie, "Alpha Dog," which was based on the notorious 2000 murder of 15-year-old boy Nicholas Markowitz.
