SAN BERNARDINO -- Judge John Pacheco's neighborhood didn't have a trash service when he was growing up, so he and his father would haul their garbage in a pickup truck to a local landfill.
He was raised in Bloomington in San Bernardino County, and once a month they made the trek. But one such excursion when Pacheco was 13 changed his family's lives.
