MARTINEZ — Contra Costa County Presiding Judge Jill Fannin always wanted to be a lawyer. Sitting in her chambers in Martinez, she points to a worn doll that sits on a shelf next to rows of legal tomes and describes how she and her sister used it as a character when playing lawyer as children.
