SAN DIEGO — For longer civil trials that could last over a month, Judge Kevin A. Enright asks his clerk to time lawyers in an effort to keep jurors from getting angry and bitter.
“It’s probably a beneficial exercise for the lawyers because it helps them, as my dad says, ‘prune their own tree,’” Enright said. “It makes their presentation more efficient.”
