LOS ANGELES - Thomas Trent Lewis spent 28 years as a divorce lawyer before he took the bench last year. He's seen a lot of pain and sorrow.
Half the children born in California since 1970 have gone through the divorce courts, Lewis said. "It's a very traumatic event, divorce."
