Owens was a partner in Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in February 2013 when he took his daughters out of school to see his old boss, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, give a talk in San Diego. Owens' wife sent along a box of cookies for the justice.
