COMPTON -- Superior Court Judge Ashley M. Price presides over a pilot dependency courtroom in Los Angeles County that aims to depart from the traditional model, focusing on early intervention and sustained engagement with families.

The program, known as HOPE--Helping Our Parents Excel for Children--launched in November 2023 and centers on families with children under 3, where timely intervention can have the greatest effect.
