SAN DIEGO - Superior Court Commissioner Brigid C.D. Campo is no stranger to high-stakes legal drama--and sometimes, tragedy.

In November, husband and wife Rachael Martinez and Jose Medina were fatally shot in downtown San Diego, just blocks from the Central Courthouse where they were scheduled to appear before Campo. Both had filed restraining orders against Martinez's former partner, Christopher Farrell.
