The Los Angeles chapter of the Women's White Collar Defense Association held its annual Summer Soirée at Kaplan Marino PC, bringing together attorneys and legal professionals from across the country to network and celebrate mentorship within the white-collar defense bar.
The Los Angeles Chapter of the Women's White Collar Defense Association hosted its annual Summer Soirée on Wednesday at the Spaulding Square headquarters of Kaplan Marino PC, bringing together members of the white-collar defense bar and other legal professionals for an evening of networking and fellowship.
Hosted by the firm and sponsored by Level Legal, the reception drew members and guests from across the country.
"Special shoutout to our friends that traveled from New York, San Francisco and Denver," said Kaplan Marino's co-founder Nina Marino, who welcomed the crowd and thanked guests for returning to the firm's offices for the annual gathering. "Thank you for being here. It's really great to see everybody."
Marino then introduced her partner, Jennifer A. Lieser, who recognized Level Legal for its continued support of the organization before inviting discovery attorney Capri M. Miller to speak on behalf of the sponsor.
"I'm such a huge fan of women's associations," Miller said. "They've made a massive impact on my personal career."
She said organizations like WWCDA provide an important forum for women to build professional relationships, mentor one another and advance within the profession.
Founded in 1999, the Women's White Collar Defense Association is an international organization that promotes the professional interests of attorneys and other professionals practicing in white-collar defense and compliance through networking, education, mentorship and leadership opportunities. The Los Angeles chapter, established in 2011, brings together private practitioners and consultants through networking events and educational programs.
