Consumer Watchdog honors

Consumer Watchdog held its annual Rage for Justice awards gala Saturday at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The organization honored Michael A. Kelly of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger with its Lifetime Legal Achievement Award. U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna received the Phillip Burton Public Service Award, and Joy Chen, executive director of the Every Fire Survivor's Network, received the Citizen Advocate of the Year Award.

Kelly has represented plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, wildfire and transportation-related litigation. He serves in leadership roles in the California Depo-Provera litigation against Pfizer and the Paraquat litigation against Syngenta, and is a member of the plaintiffs' steering committee in the Eaton Fire litigation.
