Hayward residents sue PG&E, county over 2025 gas explosion

Two Hayward residents sued PG&E, Alameda County and others, alleging failures to prevent, contain and warn residents about a gas leak that they say led to a December 2025 explosion that injured them and damaged their home.

Two Hayward residents have sued PG&E, Alameda County and others over a December 2025 neighborhood explosion, alleging a gas line was damaged during roadwork and that defendants failed to contain the resulting leak or adequately warn residents before the blast.

The complaint, filed Friday in Alameda County Superior Court, alleges the Dec. 11 explosion and ensuing fire damaged the plaintiffs' home and caused injuries.
