Chief Bankruptcy Judge Latham reappointed to second 14-year term
The 9th Circuit has reappointed Southern District of California Chief Bankruptcy Judge Christopher B. Latham, who has served on the San Diego bankruptcy bench since 2012.
Chief Bankruptcy Judge Christopher B. Latham of the Southern District of California has been reappointed to a second 14-year term by the judges of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, effective Oct. 1.
Latham, who joined the bankruptcy bench in 2012 and has chambers in San Diego, will continue to lead a court authorized four judgeships that reported 5,593 new bankruptcy filings in 2025, up 10.4% from 2024.
