Paramount exit could cost California 58,000 jobs, report warns
A Paramount-commissioned economic analysis estimates a full departure from California could eliminate nearly 58,000 jobs and $21.2 billion in annual output, as the company presses for approval of its Warner Bros. Discovery merger. An entertainment lawyer questioned whether Paramount could realistically move much of Hollywood's workforce with it.
California could lose as many as 57,980 permanent jobs and $21.2 billion in annual economic output if Paramount leaves the state, a preliminary Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp. report found, but a veteran entertainment lawyer said Monday the warning may be easier to make than carry out.
