Judge skeptical of Emrani bid to revisit Uber RICO ruling

U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett questioned whether Jacob Emrani and other defendants had met the standard for reconsideration or shown that an immediate 9th Circuit appeal would materially advance the litigation.

A Los Angeles federal judge on Wednesday appeared skeptical that personal injury lawyer Jacob Emrani and other defendants had grounds to reconsider her decision allowing Uber Technologies Inc.'s racketeering claims to proceed and questioned whether an immediate appeal would advance the case.
