Judge awards $147M in fees after $425M Google privacy verdict

U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg called the fee request "extraordinary" but warranted after Boies Schiller, Susman Godfrey and Morgan & Morgan secured a $425 million verdict following five years of litigation.

U.S. District Judge Richard G. Seeborg awarded $147 million in attorney fees to Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, Susman Godfrey LLP and Morgan & Morgan, PA, which represented the plaintiffs in a privacy class action that produced a $425 million verdict against Google last September.

Seeborg acknowledged the fee request was unusually large but said it was justified by class counsel's performance over five years of hard-fought litigation.
