Judge blocks Trump administration access to 17 million commercial driver records

A federal judge temporarily barred the Trump administration from obtaining a nationwide database of commercial driver's license holders, finding that 21 states and the District of Columbia are likely to succeed in their challenge to the data demand.

A federal judge in Virginia has temporarily blocked the Trump administration from obtaining personal information on more than 17 million people who have obtained commercial driver's licenses, days after California and other states challenged demands for access to a nationwide driver database.
