Veteran bankruptcy attorney begins 14-year term in Sacramento as filings across the Eastern District climb 20%

9th Circuit appoints Bielejeski to Eastern District bankruptcy bench

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals appointed Corrine Bielejeski as a bankruptcy judge for the Eastern District of California, placing her in Sacramento as bankruptcy filings rise across the district.

Bielejeski began a 14-year term Monday, taking the oath from Chief Judge Christopher D. Jaime. Her appointment comes after the Eastern District logged 12,830 bankruptcy filings in 2025, up 20.2% from the year before. The court is authorized six permanent judgeships.
