Lyft challenges two cases considered for future bellwether trials

Lyft challenged two cases being considered for future bellwether trials in coordinated sexual assault litigation, citing a dispute over potentially relevant journals in one case and a plaintiff's alleged text to witnesses in another.

A bellwether trial in the litigation against Lyft is scheduled for jury selection on Sept. 21 and opening arguments on Oct. 6, Sept. 21ember, but attorneys are already disputing which cases should follow.

More than 2,000 lawsuits have been coordinated in San Francisco Superior Court alleging sexual assault and harassment by Lyft drivers. The lawsuits include claims for general negligence, product liability and negligent hiring.
