Judge blocks Nexstar executives from serving on Tegna board

A federal judge ruled Nexstar Media Group cannot install current or former executives on Tegna's board while an injunction blocks the companies' merger, finding the move would undermine efforts to keep Tegna independently managed.

Current and former Nexstar Media Group Inc. officers, employees, directors and related personnel cannot serve on the board of directors of Tegna Inc. while a preliminary injunction blocks the merger of the two local television giants, a federal judge in Sacramento ruled Thursday.
