Appeals court upholds Endeavor victory in consultant idea dispute
A California appeals court upheld summary judgment for Endeavor, ruling a consultant failed to show the company understood it was expected to pay for unsolicited business ideas emailed to executives.
A California appellate court upheld a defense win for entertainment and sports holding company Endeavor Group Holdings Inc. in a lawsuit alleging it used ideas from an unsolicited business analysis emailed to company executives without paying the consultant who wrote it.
In a decision issued Wednesday, the 2nd District Court of Appeal affirmed summary judgment for Endeavor, which was defended by Latham & Watkins LLP partners Marvin S. Putnam and Jessica Stebbins Bina.
