Judge questions need for recruitment discovery in Chiquita Canyon litigation

A federal judge questioned whether allegations that some Chiquita Canyon Landfill plaintiffs were improperly recruited are relevant to the merits of the environmental mass tort, signaling skepticism toward defendants' request for additional discovery before bellwether cases are selected.
