HFPA accuses Penske, Golden Globe Foundation of scheming to seize Golden Globes

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has filed a $150 million federal lawsuit accusing Penske Media Corp., the Golden Globe Foundation and others of orchestrating a fraudulent, anticompetitive scheme to acquire the Golden Globe Awards, dissolve the HFPA and dominate Hollywood trade publishing and awards markets.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association sued Penske Media Corp., the Golden Globe Foundation, alleging they conspired to take control of the significant Hollywood markets, including the Golden Globe Awards, through anticompetitive and fraudulent conduct.
