Paramount Skydance agrees to delay merger pending court ruling
Paramount Skydance agreed to postpone closing its proposed $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery for up to 10 months, or until the court reaches a merits determination, resolving an immediate fight over a preliminary injunction sought by California and 11 other states.
Paramount Skydance Corp. agreed Friday to delay its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. for as long as 10 months, or until five days after a merits determination is reached in an antitrust challenge brought by California Attorney General Rob Bonta and 11 other state attorneys general.
U.S. District Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin of Oakland granted the order later in the day. It also applies to the Writers Guild of America's separate lawsuit challenging the deal.
