Chevron's $51 million Iran tanker insurance dispute headed to trial
A federal judge indicated she will deny summary judgment in Chevron's $51 million insurance dispute over oil confiscated after Iran seized a chartered tanker, finding the policy language too ambiguous to resolve without a trial.
Chevron's $51 million dispute with Zurich American Insurance Company -- along with fellow insurers Liberty Mutual and Great American -- over an oil tanker seized by the Iranian military in 2023 will go to trial unless the parties reach a settlement, U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley said Friday.
