Judge preserves random selection for Eaton Fire bellwether trial pool

A Los Angeles judge ordered random replacements for households leaving the Eaton Fire bellwether pool and declined to expand discovery, saying the parties already have enough work before January's first trials.

A Los Angeles judge overseeing the coordinated Eaton Fire cases on Wednesday ordered households leaving the initial bellwether pool replaced through random selection after concerns withdrawals could lead to "cherry-picking" of the first trial cases set for next January.
