Visa must face trafficking conspiracy claims over Pornhub payments

A federal judge found that plaintiffs had strengthened allegations that the payment processor went beyond a routine commercial relationship. The court dismissed several state-law claims but allowed the plaintiffs' principal federal trafficking conspiracy claim to proceed.

Visa must continue defending claims that it conspired with Pornhub to profit from child sexual abuse material, a federal judge ruled, finding plaintiffs have sufficiently bolstered allegations that the payment network provided preferential treatment to the platform despite knowing it hosted widespread illegal content.
