2nd District Court of Appeal loses two longtime justices to retirement

Two longtime 2nd District Court of Appeal justices, Lee Smalley Edmon and Audrey B. Collins, retired at the end of June after distinguished careers spanning California state and federal courts.

Two justices of the 2nd District Court of Appeal, appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown within weeks of each other in 2014, retired at the end of June, the court announced Tuesday.

Presiding Justice Lee Smalley Edmon of Division 3 and Justice Audrey B. Collins of Division 4 each concluded more than a decade of service on the appellate court.
