Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP is facing a malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty lawsuit from a Nevada physician who alleges the firm's attorneys improperly used confidential settlement discussions to gain a tactical advantage in related litigation.

The lawsuit alleges that Whitney Jones Roy, a partner at the firm, solicited settlement terms from the plaintiff without disclosing that she was representing an adverse party.
