Siskiyou County settles suit over water access for Shasta Vista residents

Siskiyou County and Sheriff Jeremiah LaRue agreed to stop enforcing water-transfer restrictions against residents of Shasta Vista and pay $650,000 in attorneys' fees to settle the remaining claims in a federal lawsuit alleging the county's cannabis enforcement efforts disproportionately targeted Asian American residents.

Siskiyou County and Sheriff Jeremiah LaRue have settled the remaining claims in a federal lawsuit alleging the county discriminated against Asian American residents while cracking down on illegal cannabis cultivation.
