Class action alleges Blue Diamond Growers 'smokehouse' almonds aren't smoked
A California resident alleges that the company misleadingly labeled the product, prompting her to purchase the goods expecting nuts that went through a smoking process. On Monday, a judge scheduled a trial for next year
Blue Diamond Growers will face a court trial in September 2027 over its use of "smokehouse" labeling on six-ounce tins of almonds after a California consumer alleged the product is deceptively marketed.
Katrina Kidd filed a proposed class action in July 2025, alleging Blue Diamond's labeling violates California's False Advertising Law and Consumers Legal Remedies Act by leading consumers to believe the almonds are prepared in a smokehouse when they are not.
