Newsom says DOJ is investigating him as experts warn of lasting consequences
The governor alleges federal investigators are scrutinizing him and his family, while legal experts say even an investigation that produces no charges can impose years of personal, political and financial strain.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a video message Monday that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating him and his wife "because I am considering running for president."
