Federal prosecutor Christina Shay Sworn in as U.S. magistrate judge

Shay, who helped oversee major civil, criminal and national security matters for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, succeeds Magistrate Judge Alicia G. Rosenberg.

Christina T. Shay, a veteran federal prosecutor who rose to lead the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, was sworn in Monday as a U.S. magistrate judge for the Central District of California.

Shay fills the Los Angeles-based Western Division seat previously held by U.S. Magistrate Judge Alicia G. Rosenberg, joining one of the nation's largest federal courts, which serves more than 19 million residents across seven Southern California counties. <...
