An Altadena couple displaced by the Eaton Fire has filed what is understood to be California's first private civil lawsuit by wildfire victims seeking to enforce the state's anti-price-gouging law, claiming they paid nearly triple the legal rent ceiling for nine months while their landlords allegedly ignored two government warnings to stop.
