Quinn Emanuel hit with $3M sanction over misleading expert report
The firm said it would send a member of its executive committee to each of its U.S. offices to discuss the incident and appoint an additional lawyer to its general counsel team to advise attorneys on making disclosures to the court.
Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP must pay a $3 million sanction after U.S. District Judge Edward M. Chen accepted a special master's finding that five of the firm's attorneys withheld important information from the court about an expert report.
In a May 19 order, Chen accepted two reports by Special Master Ismail Ramsey totaling 80 pages and detailing the misconduct, along with Ramsey's recommendations for disciplinary action.
