Chief U.S. District Judge Dolly M. Gee on Friday awarded plaintiffs' attorneys $3.33 million in fees--a full one-third of a $10 million settlement fund. She concluded that the "extraordinary risk" and six-year duration of the COVID-19 tuition refund litigation against the University of Southern California justified an award significantly above the standard 25% judicial benchmark.
