Revised Google-Epic injunction questioned ahead of new evidentiary hearing

A federal judge signaled skepticism toward revised Google-Epic injunction terms, raising concerns about app store restrictions and fees, and calling for another evidentiary hearing before deciding whether to approve changes.

Google and Epic Games rewrote their proposed changes to a 2024 injunction, which forces Google to allow third-party app stores on Android devices, to address the concerns U.S. District Judge James Donato expressed at a hearing in January. But the changes may not be enough to convince the judge, he suggested at a hearing Thursday in San Francisco.
