Even after a round of significant edits, a trade organization of media giants warned U.S. District Judge James Donato that Google and Epic Games' revised proposal to modify an injunction granted after a 2023 antitrust verdict will not adequately ensure competition.

The parties moved to modify the injunction in November 2025. Donato, based in San Francisco, has raised concerns that Epic agreed to more lenient terms in exchange for an exclusive licensing deal with Google.
