Mountain West poaching claims can proceed against Pac-12

A federal magistrate judge allowed key Mountain West claims against the Pac-12 to proceed over school departures, dismissing fraud allegations but sustaining unjust enrichment and interference claims.

The Mountain West Conference's claims against the Pac-12 for poaching five of its member schools -- and allegedly violating a contract between the two in the process -- can move forward, U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan van Keulen ruled Friday.
