Edison extends $380M in Eaton fire settlement offers
Southern California Edison has issued over 1,000 settlement offers totaling nearly $380 million for Eaton Fire claims, while plaintiffs' attorneys continue criticizing the program as limiting victims' potential recovery.
Southern California Edison announced Friday that its voluntary Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program has now extended more than 1,000 settlement offers, totaling nearly $380 million -- to those affected by the January 2025 Eaton Fire.
The offers cover more than 2,800 claimants since the program's inception. SCE said in a news release Friday.
Over 400 claimants have already been paid a total exceeding $52 million, the announcement said.
