NVIDIA faces class action over alleged crypto-related disclosures

A judge allowed investors to proceed as a class in a securities case against NVIDIA tied to cryptocurrency-related disclosures, finding reliance could be resolved on a classwide basis.

U.S. District Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. certified a class Wednesday in a lawsuit against NVIDIA over alleged securities law violations that occurred in 2018.

Gilliam, who dismissed the case in 2021 before the decision was partially reversed on appeal, expressed skepticism about the plaintiffs' claims but said that NVIDIA -- represented by Cooley LLP and Milbank LLP -- failed to show why he shouldn't certify a class.
