A federal judge has ordered California to pay nearly $500,000 in legal fees to gun rights groups after the state agreed not to enforce a 2022 law that banned gun marketing to minors.
Monday's order by U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd came a week after a stipulated agreement in which the state agreed not to enforce AB 2571. The named plaintiff is a pro-hunting group. Safari Club International v. Bonta, 2:22-cv-01395-DAD-JDP (E.D. Cal., filed Aug. 5, 2022).
