Judge weighs Berkeley homeless sweep, city cites public right of way

Federal judge takes motions under submission in challenge to Berkeley encampment sweep, probing city's obligations to disabled unhoused residents.

The City of Berkeley will lead people "to the graveyard" with its policy of sweeping homeless encampments, an attorney for the city's homeless union said Friday, as a federal judge weighed whether to block enforcement at one of the city's largest encampments.
