Judge sets October trial in actor v Disney vaccine lawsuit

Actor Rockmond Dunbar's religious discrimination claim over his firing from "9-1-1" will proceed to trial, with a jury set to decide the sincerity of his belief and employer's response.

The stage is set for actor Rockmond Dunbar to face 20th Century Fox Television in a jury trial over claims he was unlawfully fired from the show "9-1-1" after refusing the company's COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

At a pretrial hearing Tuesday, the parties told Chief U.S. District Judge Dolly M. Gee they will make a final settlement push, with the judge urging them to expedite the matter and resolve other trial logistics ahead of its Oct. 14 date.
