The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California has appointed criminal defense attorney Brian J. White a U.S. magistrate judge.
White will replace Judge Benjamin J. Cheeks, who was confirmed as a federal district court judge. Chief Judge Cynthia Bashant administered the oath Friday.
