Reed Smith faces privilege fight over alleged conflict in biotech deal
A malpractice lawsuit by screenwriter Joel Cohen and his wife claims Reed Smith concealed a conflicted representation during their investment in Sofie Biosciences Inc., raising thorny privilege issues now before Los Angeles County Superior Court.





Attorney-client privilege took center stage Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, where Judge Thomas D. Long pressed Reed Smith LLP on its bid for summary adjudication in a malpractice suit alleging the firm concealed a conflicted representation tied to the plaintiffs' biotech investment.
