UC Irvine School of Law's Criminal Justice Clinic, directed by Professor Katie Tinto, has secured the compassionate release of two Georgia inmates -- one serving 97 years, the other a life sentence -- demonstrating the clinic's significant role in U.S. criminal justice reform and addressing excessive sentencing, the university said.
